Intro

Synora is an AI assistant your whole team uses like ChatGPT. The difference is where it lives: on hardware you own, with a memory that belongs to you and not to a vendor.

Install it for yourself and it becomes a second brain. It learns from what you work on, keeps everything in a vault on your disk, and runs only on your machine.

Install it for a team and it becomes your company's brain. It learns only what an admin approves, a flagged conversation is never audited, and everything shared goes through one door.

Core features

One chat that remembers. And knows who it is for.

Synora brings chat, memory, agents and review into one place, so a team stops re-explaining itself and starts building on what it already knows.

How it works

Install once.Decide what it learns.

One installer, one question at setup. Start alone and upgrade in place when the team wants in. Your personal vault stays yours after the upgrade.

Personal mode

A second brain on your laptop.

Free, always on, no accounts and no database to set up. It learns from every conversation because there is nobody else to protect. Binding to a network interface refuses to start, so it cannot be exposed by accident.

Team mode

Your company's brain on one box.

A Mac Mini in the office, a firewall that keeps the box closed, one tunnel in. Everyone gets the same chat and the same agents. The admin gets per-user attribution, daily and monthly ceilings, and a usage page.

Review queue

It learns only what you approve.

Nothing is written to team memory directly. A nightly loop reads the team-visible conversations and proposes candidates into a queue. An admin approves, and from then on every member can recall it in a fresh chat.

Sensitive stays private

Flag it, and no model ever reads it.

Mark a conversation sensitive and it is invisible to the review queue, enforced at the read layer before any model sees the text. There is no "sensitive but team-visible" state. If your team believes the admin sees everything, they stop typing honestly.

Pricing

Free for one.Per box for a team.

No seats to count. A team pays for the box it runs on, and everyone in the building uses it.

What is Synora?
A self-hosted AI assistant with a memory. In personal mode it is a second brain on your laptop. In team mode it is a shared brain on a box in your office that learns only what an admin approves. Both modes use the same chat and the same agent marketplace.
Which AI models does it use?
Bring your own key. Synora talks to Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible endpoints and OpenRouter today, so you pick the model and the price. Running open models on the box itself is on the roadmap.
What hardware do I need?
A Mac. Personal mode runs on the laptop you already have. Team mode is designed for a Mac Mini in the office behind your own firewall, with a single tunnel in for people working from home. Other platforms follow once the Mac path is proven.
Is Synora open source?
Synora is a distribution of Hermes Agent, which is MIT licensed, with attribution preserved. The installer is public on GitHub. Team mode will be unlocked by an offline licence file, with no DRM and nothing phoning home.
